WEEKENDS ALONE IN MUMBAI

What To Do On Weekends Alone In Mumbai?

Weekends Alone In Mumbai – A short story tale. I completed 5 years of living in Mumbai. I remember it took me about 6 months to a year to understand the way this city works. I was happy stepping out of my hometown, meeting new people, managing and somehow coping up with my life. It was all nice, mostly. Spending the weekdays in office and then spending weekends alone in Mumbai – apart from sleeping.

Well, It was in the 2nd year when I realised I have a love and hate relationship with Mumbai. And till date, the statement remains unchanged. Also, I was alone in Mumbai, most of my friends were either in Delhi or had gone abroad. So, weekends were spent in asking one question- What To Do On Weekends Alone In Mumbai?

There are a gazillion of things Mumbai will make you fall in love with and there are a million others that you will look down upon.

Coming from a tier 2 city to a city like Mumbai, it was a drastic step and change, after all!

I think I am losing the plot here, and before I completely go haywire, let us concentrate on today’s blog topic and leave my “A girl in the city” story for some other day.

Having said that, it has been 5 years in this city – I still feel awkward to take a train from a new station. I get on a CSMT train instead of Churchgate, realizing post Mahim that I am on the wrong train and the next station is Curry Road! I end up taking Fast locals instead of slow realizing it post Dadar, that next station is Mumbai Central and not Prabhadevi, where I need to get off! That is Aanya, to you guys!

Yes, I can still take a fast train over a slow one, Coz why not? And the best part? I now know what a Carshade is! *proud* *proud* It is not for cars but for trains! If you knew it already, please ignore judging me and let us move on!

Also, there is not rocket science in realising that Mumbai is a vibrant and bustling metropolis on the west coast of India. There’s never a dull moment in Mumbai, and weekends are no exception. So, I have got you some suggestions on how to spend your weekends alone in Mumbai. Mumbai, the city that never sleeps, can be overwhelming at times.
